FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Can you customize the ceremony?
Absolutely. I have had beloved dogs walk down the aisle and young children play instruments.
Do you have sample ceremonies to help us decide what we want to do?
Yes. After we talk, I can send you some samples to look at, and then we’ll decide together what works best for you.
Do you require premarital counseling?
I think it is a good idea, but I don’t require it.
How do we get a marriage license?
Typically you can’t get it until 60 days before the ceremony. Here are some general guide lines—Start on line to find the details for your state. You will probably need to visit the county court house in which you are being married. Blood tests are rarely necessary anymore. Plan to take your driver’s license, passport, or birth certificate. Fees tend to range between $50-$100. Some clerks will require cash.
What do you wear at the ceremony?
It depends on the formality that you desire. I can wear a business suit, a formal long black robe and stole, or shirt and khakis if you want a casual look. I can match colors or outfit with the wedding party if so desired.
Do you travel and/or perform destination weddings?
I can go most any place you like. There’s an additional fee plus travel expenses.
